For particularly sensitive plants, you might install a simple drainage pipe system. Insert a perforated PVC pipe vertically into your planter during the planting process. This creates an additional channel for water to escape and improves air circulation around roots.
Monitor your plants regularly for signs of overwatering, including yellowing leaves, wilting despite moist soil, or mold growth on the soil surface. Adjust your watering schedule according to seasonal changes - plants typically need less water during cooler months.
