For ground-level planters, drive sturdy stakes into the soil inside the pot and tie the box to them, or use ground anchors and guy wires for very large containers. Third, employ the power of grouping. Clustering several planters together creates mutual wind resistance, making it harder for individual boxes to topple. Positioning boxes in a corner, against a wall, or behind a windbreak like a screen or larger piece of furniture can significantly reduce wind exposure. Regularly check the stability of your setups, especially after heavy rain that can loosen soil and anchors.
